Kyoto: A City of Timeless Beauty
Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is a city that beautifully blends the old with the new. As I wandered through its ancient temples and shrines, I was struck by the serene atmosphere that enveloped each site. The iconic Kinkaku-ji, or Golden Pavilion, glimmered in the sunlight, surrounded by lush gardens that seemed to whisper stories of the past.
Temples and Traditions
Visiting the Fushimi Inari Taisha was a highlight of my trip. The thousands of vermillion torii gates create a mesmerizing path up the mountain, each gate donated by individuals or businesses seeking blessings. The hike was invigorating, and the views from the top were breathtaking.
“In Kyoto, the past is always present.”
As I explored the Gion district, I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of a geisha gracefully moving to her next appointment. The streets, lined with traditional wooden machiya houses, felt like stepping back in time.
